How often have you been in a family gathering and the dog won't stop jumping on people? or been in the grocery store seeing someone elses kids run and scream in the lanes? These are easy times for us to feel reminded that we are not in control of the world around us!
God knows that we are only in control of ourselves...and sometimes that is even a challenge for us as humans. We can control, to an extent, what goes in....and what goes out. That which we hear, see, say, and touch, (and taste)--which i guess would cover drugs n alcohol.
Creating your limits, and learning your boundaries are very important to a spiritual journey. And, learning to accept the things we cannot change....change the things we can, and have the wisdom to understand the difference.. The serenity prayer is a great prayer to add to any prayer life. It is not only for AA, or NA, or Anonymous groups....All of us need a reminder that there are things we don't control, can't change---and
things about ourselves we can and Should change and control. Our Higher Power will help with all these. Seek and ye shall find, Ask and ye shall recieve.
Pray for peace---- of mind, heart, and the World.
Happy New Year!!!!
Stephen
